** hell- This is really serious, and I hope they deal with it quickly for you!
I'm so mad I can't tell you where is the security on these blogs -someone now has all my personal details

Oh dear. One should only put onto one's blog what one is willing to lose. If you put too much personal stuff on your blog, if a hacker gets in, they can do what they like. I do hope you are not overly affected by this hacker. You may need to change the locks & keys I think. It was not I that hacked into your blog. Best wishes to you.
Yours King Gog of Gog
Why is no-one from the team answering?????????????????
i seem to remeber that BCUK were moving buildings and starting up a new server and transfering stuff..that could be that that has mucked up your blog.:
No it's not Jack someone has deliberately used my password and user name to mess with my blog - they have changed the picture and the text colour to deliberately piss me off because I made a fuss yesterday. I think it's disgusting and hope my friends will back me up. I am not staying here anyway I think I would like a refund. I gave the team my password and my username at their request yesterday to help find out what the reason was behind the problems I was having re-designing my blog, coincidence? I am disgusted by it and am not surprised that everyone is leaving. You know me Jack, I am not likely to imagine it or be nasty to anyone or make a fuss without justification.

the forums are made for Support from users to Users, or to report simple bugs ... please if you need an answer drop an email - this is the only way we give support - except to get no answer before monday, because we only can give support to normal business hours.

Wendlane, you gave us permission to log in to your account. We did this to see if we could find out why you were having such problems with the design options.
So, as I explained to you in a PM last Friday, a BCUK team member logged in and tested the design wizard with your account. As I also explained in the PM, testing it involved changing the design somewhat in order to make sure that it is working properly.
We found no errors or problems whatsoever, so the problem must lie at your end. I told you that we left the design slighly changed in order to prove to you that it is working fine. I can assure you that it wasn't done to piss you off. We take every problem very seriously and we have done everything in our power to try to solve your issues.
I have been contacted by another member of the team on friday evening who has promised to investigate as no-one should ever be asked for their password and user name, he explained that it was not needed and I have a copy of his email to me which has been forwarded to someone else I trust, he is a member of the team and has been extremely helpful and understanding. When my password and username was requested it was done the day before I re-designed my new blog. No-one contacted me regarding the blog design and AFTER I had spent sometime designing it as at long last I was able to, the second I had posted my first post asking for friends opinions regarding the new design the pictures and text colour had been changed, anyone who had access to my blog would have been perfectly aware that I had in fact re-designed it and igt had been published succesfuly and also that there would have been absolutely no reason whatsoever for anyone on your team to change it, I also think it would have been good manners to have asked my permission or at least warned me first whatever your excuses are. No matter what is said on here I will stand my ground as I believe absolutely I have every right to be very angry. All the good work that your colleague has done in contacting me and calming the whole ridiculous situaton down in a more diplomatic way has just been undone thankyou for nothing.
I have nothing further to say. I am expecting a message from the team member in question on Monday and he has apologised to me and I am grateful to him for that.

Sorry, but i don't understand this at all.
When we changed some of your blog design on friday to check if it is
really NOT possible to do so. But it was.
We didn't know that you were actually able to change your blog design
because that was the problem you've reported us. And because of that we
weren't aware that changing some of your blog-design would make you so upset.
To be honest, i was a bit irretated that you told us here several times
that you can't change anything and you tried to set up a new blog and still
can't change anything and when i looked at your new blog it's all indivudally
changed (like the header, the colours etc.).
And when we checked your blog and changed stuff, there was no post saying "what
do you think of my new design" and also we didn't get a message from you that you
no longer have trouble changing your blog-design. So how should we have known?
This whole "situation" leaves big question-marks...
It certainly does and the big question marks I believe hang over blog.co.uk not over me! As you will be aware I recieved a message from one of YOUR team members on Friday evening on the ethics of requesting a password and username and he outlined how that left me vulnerable to interception. I know that I am being undermined in public here but have faith that the friends who really know me will also know me well enough that I would NEVER make a scene or a fuss about something unless it was genuine. I honestly believed I had been hacked last week. I am speechless that this is happening to me and I am being made out a trouble maker. ~Someone explain the email and the apology on Friday if I have it so wrong. Why was a password and username requested if it is not needed as your team member said, why did he tell me that it should NEVER be requested, if you did change the design on my blog why wasn't I informed before it happened? I guess you are going to say that I was informed, I wasn't until afterwards and my post had been published.
I was offered a discount by blog.co.uk on Friday and I was promised by your team member an investigation would be carried out as to what had happened here. This could be a big misunderstanding but the way you deal with people and treat people who are paying customers says an awful lot more about you and your organisation than it does about me.
I was offered an incentive to stay and was also in communication with several friends here and was after hearing from one of your team on Friday ready to start again and forget about this but not now. I want my refund please and I will take my business elsewhere.
PS I wonder if you will close the comments on this thread aswell like you did with my friends when she was trying to support me because it makes uncomfortable reading?
| nittygritty team 2008-04-21 @ 11:17 |
I think the misunderstanding was that we should have ONLY asked for your
permisson to log in "as you" in order to solve the problem but we didn't
get it right and asked for your login-data AND your permission. We shouldn't
have asked for your login-data and we usually never do but this was caused by
a lack of communication within the team.
I apologize for that.
We tried to help, obviously didn't do well, too many people involved, too many
posts about that, we got confused and couldn't reproduce the problem at all (still can't):
Sorry.
Hello I thankyou for the apology and have also been contacted by pm by a team member with an offer to restore my previous deleted blogs which I will hopefuly be able to re-design and get back on track which is appreciated. No hard feelings. For the record I do believe that blog.co.uk is one of the best blog sites when it's working well particularly for community spirit.
